Intensive General English Course + Consolidation English/Exam Preparation Workshops (20 hours per week)


This General English course is aimed at all students from Elementary to Advanced level who wish to improve their language skills in General English covering  every day situations as well as improving their skills further by attending afternoon workshops in Exam Preparation (IELTS/FCE/BEC/TOEIC) to prepare for specific exams or in Consolidation English to reinforce and consolidate newly acquired skills. The Intensive General English programme with afternoon workshops focuses on developing the four communication skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. This General English course also invites students to explore British culture through the use of authentic material and learn related idiomatic expressions in various contexts.

This course is available to adult students aged 18 and over.

Every Monday for all levels except complete beginners.
ACCORD does not accept students at Beginner’s level.

There will be no classes on these days.

Programme Content

The emphasis is on improving confidence in speaking and listening in English in a range of everyday situations that the students face outside the classroom. Activities are practical and varied to ensure students have every opportunity to participate and improve their skills in the English language.

  • Pronunciation and listening skills

  • Ongoing testing, formal English test every 4 weeks and Case Study/Project work every 2 weeks





Consolidation English Workshops: Monday & Wednesday from 1.30 to 4pm

  • Consolidation of student-defined specific areas and support in the 4 main skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing)
  • Identifying student’s weaknesses (phonetics, grammar, etc.) and guiding improvements to enable autonomous learning outside classroom situations
  • Access to authentic English skill development materials, e.g. books, magazines, newspapers, online materials



Exam Preparation Workshops: Monday & Wednesday from 1.30 to 4pm

  • Focus on exam preparation (IELTS/FCE/BEC/TOEIC)
  • Teacher-supervised sessions on exam techniques and time-keeping skills
  • Access to practise exam materials
